The wheel picks the genre and you pick the song inside it. That way it never goes out of date the way a song list would.
Picking up the mic and realising you cannot think of a single song happens to everyone. This wheel does not name songs, because any song list ages badly and every karaoke setup has a different catalogue. It picks a genre and leaves the rest to you, which is just hard enough that the room enjoys watching somebody land on the one style they know nothing in.
How do I use the karaoke picker?
Whoever is up spins, and they sing something from the genre that comes up. Stuck for a song? One respin, then they have to commit.
- Spin for a genre
It shows in the result panel, and the room hears it at the same time, so there is no renegotiating.
- Pick a song in that genre
Search the catalogue in the room. Any song counts as long as it fits.
- Edit the list to your setup
Delete a genre the catalogue is thin on and add the ones your group actually sings.
Karaoke picker questions
Why are there no song titles on the wheel?
Song lists date quickly and every karaoke catalogue is different, so a wheel of titles keeps landing on tracks the room cannot actually load. Genres work anywhere, and you can still paste your own list of songs if you prefer.
How do we make sure everyone gets a different genre?
Open advanced settings and set after win to remove, and a genre leaves the wheel once it has been sung. For a group larger than twelve, add a few more genres before you start.
Can we put it on the room's screen?
Yes, open the page on a phone and cast it, or load it on the television if the room allows. Press fullscreen so the words stay readable once the lights go down.
